Mukim Temin, Kubang Pasu, Kedah – August 3rd, 2014. Alhamdulillah, all the praises and thanks be to Allah and after more than two years of its launching as well as uninterrupted flow of contribution from people at large and kind-hearted society, IAM has already finished performing its work of leveling the ground which actually began in mid-Ramadhan last year.

Construction of the Residential Complex for Orphans and Poor will be next on schedule. It will be built in stages and is expected to commence in the near future with its initial Phase 1 project of building the Surau Complex.

Currently, the IAM is still awaiting approval from the office of Kedah Mufti for further instruction concerning the direction of Qiblat. The construction will only begin as soon as the ‘seal of approval’ is given by the relevant authorities.

This Residential Complex which will be built with the endowment-for-life concept is funded entirely through the development of ”Al-Waqf Lil Hayah” programme or better known as Lifelong Investment Scheme exclusively organized by the IAM.

The IAM also wishes to say million thanks to all who have contributed through this religious endowment or the ”Al-Waqf Lil Hayah” programme. And hopefully your contribution will be rewarded multiple times over and blessed by Allah SWT always.

Islamic Aid Malaysia (IAM) also welcomes the contribution and support from the public, in particular the participation of the corporate entities to further expedite the construction of this historic complex. This religious endowment can be purchased "ONLINE" or "OFFLINE" through the donation form provided.

Next on schedule is the work of leveling which will be started in the near future.

Kubang Pasu, Kedah, 22 may 2012 - For the first time ever, Islamic Aid Malaysia held a ‘ground-breaking’ ceremony for the construction of Islamic Aid Malaysia’s Residential Complex for Orphans and the Poor located in Mukim Temin, Kubang Pasu, Kedah Darul Aman.

The ceremony was officiated by guest of honour, YB. Dato' Johari Baharum, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry. Also present were YB Dato’ Zaini bin Japar, State Assemblyman for  Bukit Kayu Hitam and Chairman of the programme as well as Islamic Aid Malaysia’s (IAM) President YBhg Encik Zawahir Abdullah and YBhg Encik Lokman Mahmood, Managing Director, LKMD Architecture Sdn Bhd.

This momentous programme is one of the local humanitarian projects organized by Islamic Aid Malaysia (IAM) under its own ‘to-do list’ programme known as 'Local Community'. Through this local community programme, Islamic Aid Malaysia (IAM) has already drawn-up a plan to build a Residential Complex for orphans and the poor in the surrounding districts and areas of Kubang Pasu and Bukit Kayu Hitam.

The complex will be built with the ‘endowment-for-life’ concept and will also be the most modern and new state-of-the-art complex in Kedah. It is also expected to accommodate 200 children and has a complete and modern infrastructure which includes library, administrative office, dining hall, meeting and seminar room, computer and internet facilities, prayer room, leisure and recreational facilities and also staff quarters. The most unique and distinctive about hostel accommodation to be built here is that, it is based on the concept of ‘apartment structure’, rather than in the form of dormitory layout constructed in other places. Each room will only accommodate a total of 6 students to ensure their comfort and coziness. The complex will also house 4 residential units for its future staff facilities.

Construction of this complex will be entirely financed through the development and successfulness of the "Al-Waqf Lil Hayah" programme or better known with its Tag Line – A Lifetime Investment Scheme. The Construction of the Residential Complex for Orphans and the Poor will be built on a piece of land covering 4 Hectares and if all goes well, is expected to start construction next year.

As part of its existing and ongoing programmes, Islamic Aid Malaysia (IAM) had also held a programme in the form of handing-over some food packs to 50 citizens of poor and the needy around the Kubang Pasu district. The food pack contains basic necessities such as rice, sugar, flour, sardines, milk et cetera. Interestingly, the programme had also received full support and cooperation from the office of YB Dato' Zaini Jaini, the State Assemblyman for Bukit Kayu Hitam.

President of Islamic Aid Malaysia (IAM), Zawahir Abdullah had earlier conveyed his message that they were very grateful and indebted to those who had been unswervingly and directly involved in the project which would lead to the construction of Residential Complex for Orphans and the Poor.

‘We will do our best to ensure that the dream to build a Residential Complex for orphans and the poor will eventually come true. Efforts to provide the best education for these children are actually our ongoing mission in the fight and struggle for the fate of the needy, orphans and the poor’. He had also expressed his gratitude to fellow friends and volunteers of IAM who were directly involved in ensuring the success of the programme as well as friends from the Assembly Office, Bukit Kayu Hitam.

 26 June 2012 - Setapak, Kuala Lumpur.

Islamic Aid Malaysia (IAM) held a press conference at the Office of IAM Setapak branch to inform the public on the new charity project initiated by IAM called "Al Waqf Lil Hayah". This project was held for the first time with the purpose of raising funds to help with the construction of Residential Complex for Orphans and The Poor in Kubang Pasu, Kedah.

The pleasant and unpretentious ceremony was officiated by a representative to YBhg Dato' Suhaimi Ibrahim, Political Secretary to the YAB Minister of Women, Family and Community Development who was unable to attend due to health problems.

The Residential Complex and Hostel development project for orphans will be fully funded through the concept of Waqf which is labeled as "Al Waqf Lil Hayah". It is not only confined to hostel for orphans alone but will also involve the development of the disabled centre, madrasah, religious schools and also tahfiz Al-Quran. The "Al Waqf Lil Hayah" programme has unique ability in raising funds whereby waqif (founder/donor) will have the opportunity to contribute their endowment online via the recently-setup website at www.wakaf.org.my. In addition to online benefaction, contributors can also do a cross-check of the contributions made over a given or stated period at the same website as well.

Again at this juncture, IAM would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to those who had attended and given their support to this magnificently constructed project in particular, media partners and fellow volunteers.
